Your role:
As an Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties, preparing and managing monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and preparing financial reports on a determined schedule.
You will also work closely with the rest of the accounting team to improve business and accounting processes by analyzing financial information and thinking critically about the business’s financial situation.
Your responsibilities
- Provide support and guidance to the Billing and Payables teams to ensure correct treatment of issues
- Assure billing adjustments are validated and reconciled
- Communicate Treasury requirements to Controller
- Complete month end closing processes, including Balance Sheet validation and P&L analysis
- Produce financial statements and accounting reports in CAD GAAP / IFRS
- Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliation schedules
- Present accounting analysis to the finance leadership
- Build official reports required by regulatory agencies and other external parties
- Provide support on complex projects and ad hoc analysis
- Review Sales taxes report and submission
- Prepare monthly accrual and other month-end entries with the accountant
- Cash flow preparation and analysis
- Support with the preparation of the state & income tax returns
- Assist in the annual audits by compiling information and analysis, as required by auditors
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, finance or other related field
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
- Excellent written and spoken skills in both English and French
- Autonomy and confidence making strategic and essential accounting decisions
- Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Work well with a diverse team
- Work under pressure and respect deadlines
